Kitchen Re-Done!
Ok, so here finally are the photos of the re-done kitchen.
This photo shows that I removed the hutch off of the buffet. Now my shelf with the words "FAMILY" on it really stands out when you first enter the kitchen. It's hard to tell, but the walls are now a very light 'peach' color. I also stacked up some old crates (on the left) and put all of my cookbooks in them, as well as some photos and knicknacks.
I put up a wall paper border that is basically giant daisies - they are not painted or drawn, but actual photos of daisies. I was very excited to get my new stainless steel trash can with the foot pedal so I NEVER need to touch a trash can lid again! I'm also using the kitchen to display my black and white photography as you can see - from my days as a photography student.
I put new black and white gingham window treatments in the mud room as you enter the kitchen.
Here is my new black sink with new shiney silver faucet and the black and white gingham window treatment that matches the ones in the mudroom. We put up a wineglass rack and a hung a three tiered fruit / vegetable basket.
Here you can see that I have painted the small wall space above the cabinets pitch black. I know that's odd. But I like it. It will probably have something more added to it at some point but I just can't decide what yet.
This is what I see every morning at 6:00 am. My coffee pot with my favorite coffee cup on top, my wee Belfast teas set, and my Irish Blessing plaque on the right.
This display is my favorite. My Belfast crystal and Bellek Frame from Ireland and my favorite black and white photos.
